So today’s post was supposed to be about Hilary’s Gender Reveal Shower, however I am an idiot. I was under the assumption that the shower was yesterday, when in all actuality it is next Saturday. I get a pass for my negligence as I live in Wyoming and I will not be attending said shower.
At any rate, I took the opportunity of a free day to post about an idea that Danielle and I came up with! (And I’m sure Sami & Hilary will follow post babies!) If you’re on Pinterest you will note that everyone and their mom pins these “quick workouts.” I’m guilty. I have a whole board full of those suckers! The truth is, I pin them and then I never do them. The past few weeks I have been doing Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred off and on. Now that Baby E is on a solid napping schedule (Praise Jesus!) I have about 5-6 hours during the day that I can have uninterrupted school time, cleaning time, bottle washing time, crocheting time, and now … workout time.
Clean Eating during the week (I elect to eat whatever I want on Saturdays to get my sweets fix!) has helped me to lose close to 9 pounds in three weeks, but my overall goal was to lose 45! I’ve ALWAYS struggled with my weight – mostly because I eat whatever I want and never workout. My husband’s last deployment I lost 30 pounds – just working out. I ate whatever I wanted, never counted calories, and I just made sure to workout 4-5 times a week. I was pregnant with our daughter about a month after he returned from Afghanistan, and thanks to 6 straight months of morning sickness lost another 25 pounds. I left the hospital at 227!
Being from a large, athletic family I’m realistic about weight. I know the number on the scale does not necessarily reflect how you look. In high school I was a size 10, but also 200 pounds! However, I gained a significant amount of weight in the past 5 years, and know that my healthy and comfortable weight is 200. And that’s my goal!
I am looking at about 35ish pounds to lose from today. My goal is to have that gone by September/October!
So this brings in our workout challenge!
All of those wonderful quick workouts we’ve pinned are going to come into play. The plan is this – over the next 30 days Danielle and I will select two workouts from our Pinterest boards. We will do them and then post the results. I can’t promise we will do these daily. In fact I’m quite certain there may be a week where I do it only twice – especially with the winding down of my school term. Here are the workouts I’ve chosen for the month of April!
My measurements have been taken and I’m excited to get started! I will be taking the “3 Days On, 1 Day off, 365 Days a Year” approach. (Anyone else watch The Biggest Loser? We’re obsessed … ) Anyway – Bob Harper made this “the thing” this season after he wore a shirt on The Biggest Loser that said just that – but I believe it is a CrossFit slogan. At any rate I am aiming to workout 3 days straight, 1 day rest, 3 days straight, so on and so forth. I love this idea! No more, “I’m going to workout Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.”
So that’s the plan … Hoping that between clean eating and these two workouts I’m looking a little smaller at the end of April! I will update (and make Danielle, too) about two weeks in. We’ll post final results for April on May 1!
If you want to join in with us, the more the merrier! We’d love to see you post your results in the comment section come May 1! Tell us what workouts you chose from your Pinterest board!
