Today I was supposed to post about how to make a fancy chalkboard and how to achieve chalkboard writing like this:
So when I went to start this little post my picture transferer thingamajig decided to just … stop working. I messed with it, unplugged and replugged, stared at it angrily, I threw it across the room, I picked it up and apologized, and then tried again … Then I threw it one more time.
If it wasn’t broken before it’s surely broken now.
Fret not, it’s on my list of things to pick up at The Walmart when I decide to put on real clothes and get out of the house.
By real clothes I of course mean jeans and a nice top instead of yoga pants and a tshirt. It’s not like I’m walking around with fake, paper doll clothes that I have to fold the paper tabs over. ‘Cause that would be awkward …
But really, if you think about it, those gowns they make us wear in Labor & Delivery are pretty much paper doll clothes.
Expect that post this Friday – plus an awesome giveaway which I can’t mention.
Today is Monday. Bear with me. 🙂
The past few weeks I have been watching the month of August click away. My birthday is tomorrow and one of the things I love about said day is the fact that it is at the end of August and creeping closer into the cool September days. Being that we now live in Wyoming September actually DOES get a little cooler, versus North Carolina where it was still in the 90s almost consistently through October. (True story…) This morning I took my pups out and it was overcast, windy, and a little cool. I breathed that deliciousness in deep. The days are getting a little shorter and the nights and mornings a little cooler. So this means one thing …
Time to pin Autumn crap on Pinterest like a freak hopped up on pumpkin spice lattes and hot apple cider. Wearing a scarf. And a sweater. While cooking a soup in the crockpot.
I picked a theme for our home decor this autumn – thankfulness. Because that’s what autumn is. A season of thankfulness. Plus I think the autumn and winter seasons are the perfect opportunity to transform your home into this spiced apple cinnamony smelling cozy atmosphere. There is truly nothing more wonderful than a home during the cold months.
Here are some of the ideas that I’ve pinned on Pinterest that you will see play out in my home. But more importantly I’m inviting you on a month long journey with me …
September will be a month where I do an autumn-esque project at least once a week to help YOU get your home all warm and cozy. And they will be as inexpensive as possible! Are you excited? I am.
Below are a few things you can look forward to. Plus a little things here and there – like DIY simmering spices. It’s going to be a fun month! And come October you will have the coziest, cutest, most autumn filled house on the block.
I’m a sucker for a good chalkboard quote!
I’m not sure what is written behind the “grateful” letters, but my plan is to write many things we are thankful for and mix in some verses of thankfulness.
Cute white pumpkins with letters. 🙂
I did the coffee beans with vanilla candles for a while. Loved it. Switching it up with cinnamon sticks for the cooler months!
My wreath won’t be exactly like this – but dang close. And don’t worry – tutorial will follow. 🙂
This really isn’t a decoration, but I think as my kiddos get older we will start a First Day of Autumn decoration tradition. Complete with leaf shaped cookie decorating and some apple cider. If you have older kids this might be a fun tradition for you to start this year!
More chalkboard quote love. May have to switch mine up a few times over the season. 🙂
And yes, I wouldn’t be me without finding some new crochet project. Crochet pumpkins? Don’t mind if I do …
See you guys on Friday! Enjoy your last week of August. Soon the cold will rush in along with our sweaters and warm apple cider.
